Learn About Our History

FANCHER OIL is an independent energy company focused on the exploration, acquisition, development, and production of natural gas and crude oil in the Rocky Mountains, Mid-Continent, and Gulf Coast regions of the United States. Fancher Oil Company was founded in 1980 by George H. Fancher, Jr., which became Fancher Oil LLC and Fancher Resources, LLC in 1997. In 2006, all of Fancher Oil LLC’s operated properties and production were sold. Mr. Fancher is now bringing his established experience and expertise to his latest venture Fancher Oil II, LLC.

Fancher Oil II, LLC (the “Company”) was formed in 2013 to build upon the success achieved by its predecessor by creating a diversified portfolio of proved reserves, development, and exploratory drilling opportunities. The Company is focused on Acquisition and Exploitation by acquiring long-lived, stable assets with sizeable reserves. The Company is in opportunistic pursuit of “non-core” assets with development upside from companies focused on more capital-intensive (horizontal) shale plays. The development and exploitation of properties sold or bypassed by larger companies is laying the foundation of reserves and cash flow required for growth and development. In addition to acquiring stable assets with sizable reserves, the Company will utilize years of experience and expertise in particular regions to generate or acquire prospects and build lease positions. In 2019, Ms. Fancher followed her grandfather’s work as a petroleum engineer in Bogotá, Colombia. Professor Fancher’s work in the 1940s continues to inspire her and drive the ambitions of the Company. Generations of family expertise and love for the “hunt” is the heart of this small independent.

Financial flexibility from a strong foundation of long-term reserves enables the Company to explore, drill, and develop high-potential conventional and non-conventional oil and natural gas prospects. While the focus is on hydrocarbon prospects, and mineral and royalty acquisitions, the Company continues to analyze more sustainable options for the future.

The Company’s team works closely with aggressive independent engineers, geologists, and geophysicists. Utilizing existing and emerging technologies, the Company aims to enhance recoverable reserves and reduce financial and operational risk.
